The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 74.0 x 58.0 mm (2.9 x 2.3 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 249.00 ccm (15.19 cubic inches). The engine features a 9.8:1 compression ratio.

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.

Chassis

It came with a 100/80-m17 front tire and a 130/70-m17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic forks while the rear was equiped with a bottom link swingarm The YBR250 is fitted with a 19.20 litres (5.07 gallons) fuel tank. The wheelbase is 1,360 mm (53.5 inches) long.
