The engine was a air cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 65.0 x 56.4 mm (2.6 x 2.2 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 748.00 ccm (45.64 cubic inches). The engine features a 9.2:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).


The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via shaft drive (cardan).


It came with a 3.25-19 front tire and a 120/90-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The XJ750 is fitted with a 18.00 litres (4.76 gallons) fuel tank.
