Yamaha RS200 in Movies
The Yamaha RS200 is a twin, two-stroke touring motorcycle produced between 1978 and 1981. It could reach a top speed of 136.8 km/h (85.0 mph)
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.
Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a spring while the rear was equiped with a spring shocks
The Crying Game
Yamaha 250 ou 350 RD? (encore qu'avec le tambour ridicule à l'avant...) Sorry my French isn't good but I wonder if it isn't something smaller because of the small drum front brake. Regarding your statement : that's what jplemoine mentions as well between brackets : "...but what about this ridiculous drum front break". Maybe RD125 or RD200?? Msr jplemoine and me must be older that you lot...it could indeed be an early RD250 YDS7 from the mid 70's drum brake was correct...not sure though, could also be YR5 the 350..they looked much the same.... http://www.bikesfromscrap.co.uk/assets/images/YDS7.JPG I don't think its even a RD125/200 or YDS7, RD250 or 350. Drum brakes on front rules out RD250 or 350. The bike is quite small in stature plus there only seems to be a single clock (speedo) between handle bars plus I cannot see a left hand exhaust to make it a twin. Possibly just a RS100 or 125.
It's an RS200
