The engine was a liquid cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 76.0 x 65.0 mm (3.0 x 2.6 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 1180.00 ccm (72.00 cubic inches). The engine features a 10.6:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 170/60-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The Trophy 1200 is fitted with a 25.00 litres (6.61 gallons) fuel tank. The bike weighs just 235.0 kg (518.1 pounds). The wheelbase is 1,490 mm (58.7 inches) long.
