Engine
The engine was a air cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 70.0 x 64.8 mm (2.8 x 2.6 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 997.00 ccm (60.84 cubic inches). The engine features a 9.2:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.
Chassis
It came with a 3.50-19 front tire and a 4.50-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The GS1000 is fitted with a 20.00 litres (5.28 gallons) fuel tank.
