The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 56.0 x 50.0 mm (2.2 x 2.0 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 123.00 ccm (7.51 cubic inches). The engine features a 6.9:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a rotary valves.
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.
It came with a 2.75-18 front tire and a 3.00-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The GP125 is fitted with a 10.00 litres (2.64 gallons) fuel tank.
