The Suzuki DR-Z 400 is a single cylinder, four-stroke enduro / offroad motorcycle produced between 2002 and 2003.

Engine

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 90.0 x 62.6 mm (3.5 x 2.5 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 398.00 ccm (24.29 cubic inches). The engine features a 12.2:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.

Chassis

It came with a 80/100-21 front tire and a 110/100-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The DR-Z 400 is fitted with a 10.00 litres (2.64 gallons) fuel tank. The bike weighs just 113.0 kg (249.1 pounds). The wheelbase is 1,475 mm (58.1 inches) long.

The Place Beyond the Pines

Honda XR650R ? 650R? Not hardly. I own a Honda XR650R. I can say with great confidence that the bike pictured is not an XR650R. The XR650R was produced from 2000-2007 and never had any blue coloring. Another, more damning feature, is that the XR650R is a water-cooled bike with radiators. The bike above cleared does not have radiators. This bike is more likely a predecessor to the XR650L, but the plastics throw me. As Mr Noone has revealed, XR650L would at least be closer because it's air-cooled. But the bike shouldn't remain listed as an XR650R if the specification doesn't match.

This bike is actually a Honda CRF230 made to look like an old XR600, or an XR650L. Hard to tell really because I can't find any pictures of the actual XR as used in the film online. The XR and the CFR are both air cooled singles, but I suspect the smaller bike was easier to do some of the stunts on.

Suzuki DR-Z400SM La 400SM est commercialisée pratiquement inchangée depuis une bonne douzaine d'année. Ep. Pilot Audi 4000 in the main shot? Yes, it's an Audi. Due the very distorted angle it makes me think, if it could be an Audi 5000 [Typ44], but it's rather an 1985+ Audi 4000 [B2], Audi 90 in Europe. Ingo is right. That's a 1985 4000 B2
