Kawasaki KZ1000? : http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0892878789.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg Suzuki 1000 GS police, plutôt... (faut bien un peu de variété, non?) The Monkey-Cicle! that motorbike was stolen from the police station by those monkeys. Escort/Lynx in the picture.

The early and very poorly rendered CGI monkeys.

Standard 1000 Police Special? Or is it the 1200? Check this site and make up your own mind. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Police_Special I haven't worked out which is which yet but there does not appear to have been a 1200. I don't know what replaced the Kawasaki but there are some big Hondas in some US police departments.

H-D... There are two different motorcycles here. And it'll take probably at least one or two other pics to tell. foreground one I am very sure it's a Kawasaki KZ 1000 police bike http://svsm.org/albums/kawasakipolice1000jh/DSC07561.jpg /vehicle_759102-Kawasaki-KZ-1000.html /vehicle_6430-Kawasaki-KZ-1000-Police.html The other one, I'm sure that's some sort of BMW, as the LAPD does have BMWs in their fleet alongside the Kawasakis and Harleys. Bien vu ! This carénage is really peculiar, I'll try to remember it. But this other too has a special (zut, comment dit-on "carénage" en anglais, pour ce genre de cas ?)… er… profiling… fairing! Bien vu aussi, carcrasher88 ! /vehicle_65731-BMW-R-1150-RT-P-2001.html (Note that the two are also on this only pic.) the Kawasaki can be listed IMO

I would have hoped another pic to differenciate the two.

This shot of the paramedics wheeling a body out on a stretcher is used twice in the film, at the very beginning and at the end. After reading this site, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Police_Special I wonder if all of these US police Kawasakis should have their origin changed from Japan to USA. I don't know when US production started but it seems that most of the big Japanese bikes sold in the US, especially the big tourers - Honda Gold Wings and the like were actually built in the USA. origin = where it was designed/conceived and initially sold. Or were these models specific for US market? But anyway we can add "made in USA".

I have probably opened up a can of worms here but as far as I know these bikes were built in the USA for the US police forces. I presume the same plants built bikes for sale to the public as well. I also presume that bikes of similar specification for sale to other markets were built in Japan. As regards the US police models it would appear they were all built in the US. Maybe someone in the US can confirm this?
