The engine was a air cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 66.0 x 54.0 mm (2.6 x 2.1 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 739.00 ccm (45.09 cubic inches). The engine features a 9.5:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).


The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.


It came with a 110/90-18 front tire and a 130/90-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The GPZ750 is fitted with a 18.00 litres (4.76 gallons) fuel tank.
