The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 54.0 x 54.5 mm (2.1 x 2.1 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 124.82 ccm (7.62 cubic inches). The engine features a 8.8:1 compression ratio.
Drive
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.
Chassis
Stopping was achieved via single disc. wave disc. in the front and a single disc. wave disc. in the rear. The front suspension was a 48mm kayaba aos while the rear was equiped with a sachs multi adjustable shock with soft damp linkage The CR125 is fitted with a 7.00 litres (1.85 gallons) fuel tank. The bike weighs just 92.0 kg (202.8 pounds). The wheelbase is 1,460 mm (57.5 inches) long.
