Honda XL250 in Movies

The Honda XL250 is a single cylinder, four-stroke enduro / offroad motorcycle produced between 1973 and 1978. It could reach a top speed of 115.0 km/h (71.5 mph)

Engine

The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 74.0 x 57.8 mm (2.9 x 2.3 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 248.00 ccm (15.13 cubic inches). The engine features a 9.1:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.

Chassis

It came with a 3.00-21 front tire and a 4.00-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The XL250 is fitted with a 9.50 litres (2.51 gallons) fuel tank.

A bike with disc brakes(!)already into Thirties'...how is possible???...for me is a "'30s-masked-alike-modern-bike"!!!!... The bike looks to be based on a four-valve Honda trail bike from the '80s or '90s. 250 XLR? Vraisemblablement (cf Indiana Jones, The Last Crusade...)

i think XL/XR 250 RFVC and in the Indiana Jones movie the german soldiers ride on XR/XL 500S twinshockers with the famous Hond 23 front wheel.

That's 4 stars then thats fine with me 3 stars, not used enough for 4 i agree Honda XL500S.

XL250SA- 79/80 with non standard headlight. If it were a 500, you wouldn't see the top of the engine like that.

Rider is Grant Page, who went on to to the stunt co-ordination for Mad Max and many other films The SL350 was a high pipe version of the CB350 twin. Thats an SL, the tank shape was unique through all SL's. XL tanks were slimmer shaped.also the SL had rear frame chromed as this one is , XL's did not.

Honda XLS 250? 1981 Honda XL250S Since the bike has been repainted, it's difficult to determine the year. But, because of the size of the side panels (earlier models' were smaller), the shape of the fender (year 1980 had a flatter top section) and the round tube swingarm (later models had a rectangular section), I'm almost positive it's an 1981 model. Note that the subject bike is missing its rear flashers.

XL250SA. 79/80. SB 1981 had tacho drive off camshaft, these don't. SZ had small sidecovers.
