The Harley-Davidson Model R is a v2, four-stroke allround motorcycle produced between 1932 and 1932.
A 69.9 x 96.9 mm (2.8 x 3.8 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 742.60 ccm (45.31 cubic inches).
The final drive was via chain.
It came with a 3-26 front tire and a 3-26 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The bike weighs just 181.0 kg (399.0 pounds).

Harley-Davidson - even though the paint job suggests it might be a 1920s JDH, It looks to have a side valve engine so might be a 45 cubic inch Model D??
I think it's a 1932/33 Harley-Davidson Model R (45ci/750cc), it's not a model J because it has a sidevalve engine and it's not a model V(L) because the secondary drive is at the right hand side

I think this is the smaller 45 cubic inch Model D or its replacement (Model R?).
Half a Sinner
Harley-Davidson. The logo is distinctive for the models of late 1930s. This logo was used from 1936 to 1939 only. The bike is a side valve model so is possibly a WL? The engine does not look big enough to the bigger U or V.
it the predecessor of the model W, the Harley-Davidson model R (750cc) as built in 1936
