BMW R71 in Movies
The BMW R71 is a two cylinder boxer, four-stroke custom / cruiser motorcycle produced between 1938 and 1941. It could reach a top speed of 125.0 km/h (77.7 mph)
The engine was a air cooled two cylinder boxer, four-stroke. A 78.0 x 78.0 mm (3.1 x 3.1 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 746.00 ccm (45.52 cubic inches). The engine features a 5.5:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).
The bike has a 4-speed transmission. The final drive was via shaft drive (cardan).
It came with a 3.5-19 front tire and a 3.5-19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake). single in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a cartridge while the rear was equiped with a twin shock-swingarm The R71 is fitted with a 14.00 litres (3.70 gallons) fuel tank. The wheelbase is 1,400 mm (55.1 inches) long.
The Last Emperor
The sidecar combination is based on a BMW boxer, looks like the World War 2 R71 type. Could also be a Ural of Dnepr model (Russian-made copies of the original R71 model).
Another possibility: Chang Jiang 750 (CJ750), a Chinese-made R71 knockoff. - Dodgeman
The car in the background seems rare enough to be worth mentioning (and, maybe, listing): 1937 Datsun Model 16 Sedan. http://faimg1.forum-auto.com/mesimages/151927/DatsunModel16Sedan1937_01b.jpg
Un singe en hiver
Cylinder head is flat. exhaust pipe has come out from the upper part, and is narrow toward the bottom. ...it's SV flat-twin. And the tip of front fender is round. Tire is not so fat. So I say 'It's BMW R71' with small voice -- quietly. Would you add the year? (1938-41)
If it's the real deal then BMW R71 but given the last ones were built in 1941 and are now rare and expensive (how many survived?). Things like chrome headlamp rim/handlebars/fork bottoms make me thing of Ural M72 or Chang Jiang CJ750, they would have been painted on an original.

Tutti figli di Mammasantissima
BMW R71 as built from 1935 to 1941, hard to tell from this picture if it's real one, but it seems to have a contemporary Steib sidecar. so it might be a real R71
