Engine

The engine was a air cooled two cylinder boxer, four-stroke. A 94.0 x 70.6 mm (3.7 x 2.8 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 979.00 ccm (59.74 cubic inches). The engine features a 9.5:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via shaft drive (cardan).

Chassis

It came with a 3.25-19 front tire and a 4.00-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The R100S is fitted with a 24.00 litres (6.34 gallons) fuel tank.
