Engine

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 100.0 x 83.0 mm (3.9 x 3.3 inches) stroke result in a displacement of just 652.00 ccm (39.79 cubic inches). The engine features a 11.5:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.

Chassis

It came with a 110/80-r19 front tire and a 140/80-r17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. abs. floating discs. two-piston calipers. in the front and a single disc. abs. floating disc. single-piston caliper. in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork, 41mm diameter, fork stabiliser while the rear was equiped with a box-section steel dual swing arm, central spring strut operated by lever system, spring pre-load hydraulically adjustable (continuously variable) at handwheel, rebound damping adjustable The G650GS is fitted with a 14.00 litres (3.70 gallons) fuel tank. The bike weighs just 175.0 kg (385.8 pounds). The wheelbase is 1,477 mm (58.1 inches) long.

2011 BMW G 650 GS. Although the official name is F 650 GS, the real engine displacement is 800 cc. They've copied that from their automotive department. The 118d I had as a rental some time ago was a 2.0. The new 328i has only a 2.0 engine. Also the new 528i. But this is not an F 650 GS.
