AJS 7R in Movies

Kdyby ty muziky nebyly

A racing AJS in the early 60ies, I think it can't be anything else than a 7R. (New-Zealander Ginger Molloy, perhaps. He was racing in Czechoslovakia and around between GP of Belgium in Spa early July and Ulster GP at the beginning of August. He had a 7R for the 350cc races, and a Matchless G50 for the 500cc.) Actually, according to the entry list, this is the South-African rider Ian Burne, who rode the 'Continental Circus' that year. And since 50sParis gave us this shot of a rider sporting a springbok antilope on the front of his helmet, this must be Ian Burne.

Hey, but, I kow him! This is Tony Woodman, an American rider who did the 'Continental Circus' for a while, having a string of starts in Czchoslovakia and Yugoslavia in 1964 - so the picture is taken in '64 - and then becoming more and more assured in the early European season in 1965, shining in the German and Austrian GP, and then having a very very bad crash in late May, North West '200'. He is seen here riding his AJS 7R. (Et je me vote des félicitations émues.)
